The Glitz And Glamour Of Giorgio Armani Privé’s 20Th Anniversary Show
Armani marks 20 years of couture with a dazzling SS25 collection.

For the 20th anniversary of his haute couture line, Giorgio Armani walked the runway with a stunning model by his side, smiling and waving to his guests. While it’s not uncommon for designers to make a quick appearance behind the curtains after a show, the 90-year-old’s decision to personally thank everyone in the emotionally charged room seemed like a heartfelt gesture of gratitude for those who have supported him and kept him at the forefront of haute couture for two decades.
The collection itself reflected this sentiment, drawing inspiration from how light interacts with fabric. Armani dedicated this season to the “authentic, modern woman who has traveled widely.”
“Her journey spans the shapes and colors of China, the landscapes of Polynesia transformed into prints and embroideries with delicate watercolor softness, the opulence of India, the linear elegance of Japan, and the decorum of northern Africa, all rendered with an intangible, barely perceptible lightness, like a brushstroke of light,” read the show notes.

The collection was rich in embellishments, with tailored cropped jackets, long evening gowns, coats, skirts, and evening bags all adorned with shards of amaranth, bronze, and deep blue crystals. Staying true to his signature style, pants were kept translucent, silky, and flowing. Gowns were backless and strapless, while full-circle skirts and vests featured heavy embroidery. To complete the look, sequined headpieces crowned sleek, side-parted updos, with mauve-grey eyeshadow framing the models' eyes.
Among the guests were Demi Moore and the director of her new movie The Substance, Coralie Fargeat, as well as Valeria Golino, the director of Angelina Jolie’s upcoming film Maria. Giorgio Armani has long had a deep connection with cinema, often reflecting on how it has shaped his career and creativity.
In a past essay, he wrote, “I’ve often wondered what my life would have been without film. Surely I would not have become the man and designer that I am today. For me, films were not only a youthful passion that continued into adulthood, but also a constant source of ideas and inspiration, a mine of images upon which to draw and build my world.”
Like cinema is to Mr. Armani, it is a pure pleasure for us to experience the world he has created, season after season. Here’s to many more full runway walks.
